Ceasurile de Agatha Christie
Seria cartilor care il au in centru pe faimosul Hercule Poirot include si volumul “Ceasurile”. In aceasta carte Agatha Christie isi tine – ca de obicei – cititorii in suspans aducandu-le in prim plan doua povesti care se desfasoara, aproape fara legatura, in paralel.
Sheila Webb este o dactilografa care se prezinta la o solicitare la o casa de pe Wilbraham Crescent. Cum i se comunicase ca atunci cand ajunge, daca nu i se raspunde, poate sa intre in casa si sa mearga in salonul din dreapta, urmeaza intocmai instructiunile. Insa nu gaseste un client acolo, ci un om mort. Asa ca fuge imediat din casa tipand, iar pe trotuar se ciocneste de un domn aflat acolo in cautarea unui numar unde credea ca se afla cineva care ar fi putut sa clarifice un caz la care lucra.
De-aici incepe aventura, pentru ca in fapt casa in care se gasise cadavrul apartinea unei doamne oarbe care stia insa ca are un anumit numar de ceasuri, iar cand vin politistii se constata ca sunt cateva in plus. Iar unul dispare. Da, n-are nicio logica aparitia ceasurilor. Politistii se chinuie sa rezolve cazul, o alta persoana moare insa. Tanarul in bratele caruia se oprise Sheila cand alergase din casa in care daduse peste cadavru este de fapt un prieten al lui Hercule Poirot. Acesta se afla acum intr-o stare de relativa plictiseala la el acasa studiind romanele politiste ale diversilor autori. Colin Lamb decide sa ii prezinte cazul Sheilei lui Poirot care considera ca poate rezolva orice crima de la el de acasa si astfel il implica, indirect, in crima, rugandu-l sa il ajute. V-am ametit? 😛
Unde duc toate itele, ce era cu ceasurile si mai ales daca si de ce ar putea fi legate cazurile lui Colin si cel in care ajuta Poirot aflati citind romanul. Intentionat nu va spun multe si foarte clare 😉 dar va spun ca gasiti cartea la Editura RAO.
Ca de obicei aveti personaje foarte diferite create de autoare – o iubitoare de pisici (tiparul oarecum clasic), un profesor si sotia lui, aflati la pensie, o doamna cu doi baieti si cu sotul plecat si… mai aflati voi ce alte personaje interesante ajuta – sau incurca – in ancheta.
Romanul este unul care se potriveste foarte bine tiparului autoarei – constructia povestirii, rasturnarile de situatie si dezvaluirile surprinzatoare de la final.

Between me and my husband we’ve owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I’ve settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.
This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
