Masini care zboara, masini care plutesc – masini inventate dar deoparte lasate si un trafic…
Cum se circula la noi – la ore de trafic intens – dar cand nu e trafic intens astazi? – stim toti. Si nu e vorba numai de Bucuresti sau numai de Romania. E o situatie intalnita in multe tari (chiar daca, asa cum aratam aici uneori la altii se circula mai bine).
Problema a fost sesizata de la inceputurile sale si multi au incercat sa ii gaseasca si solutii. A aparut astfel, in 1945 masina care si zboara – inventata de Ted Hall. Cumparata de Convair, in iulie 1946 se lanseaza Convair Model 118 ConvAirCar. Detalii aici. Se pare ca pretul era de 1500 $ plus pretul aripilor care se puteau lua de la orice aeroport. Desi s-au prevazut vanzari destule… no luck – in final fiind construite – se pare – doar doua aparate care s-ar afla acum in California.
Ia acordat atentie problemei si Moulton Taylor care a ajuns sa lanseze Aerocar (despre care se scrie si pe Wikipedia). Ford Motor Company s-a gandit sa produca Aerocar-ul la nivel de serie, dar nici acest model nu a avut succes. Puteti afla si la aceasta adresa niste detalii interesante.
Paul Moller a lucrat multi ani la Skycar – model si idee ramase din pacate tot fara succes.
Dar oamenii nu s-au gandit doar la masini care sa zboare, ci si la masini care sa pluteasca. Ajungem astfel la Amphicar, o masina a carei idee si istorie o aflati de aici – iar daca aveti nevoie sa cumparati diverse pentru Amphicars, atunci apelati probabil la cei de la Amphicars. Si chiar exista detinatori de Aphicars! iar daca ne gandim la cum arata strazile capitalei noastre – si ale multor orase din tara noastra si de pe la vecini in perioadele inundatiilor sau ploilor abundente… putem intelege oportunitatea unei asemenea masini.
Din pacate insa ceea ce se constata este ca astfel de idei, in sine excelente, nu au avut succes. Unii sustin ca este vorba de convergenta – care nu va functiona niciodata (desi sunt multe exemple care ii contrazic deja pe Al Ries si Laura Ries).
Ceea ce s-ar putea spune e ca poate o masina care sa zboare si sa fie ca un mic avion e mai dificil si de intretinut si de condus, si de “parcat”. Dar vin si intreb, o masina-elicopter nu ar fi mult mai utila si mai usor de realizat? Facem astazi roboti capabili sa ne imite in din ce in ce mai multe privinte. Se fac de ani buni filme SF cu masini care zboara – si cu benzi de circulatie suspendate. Se scriu carti pe tema. Am avansat cu tehnologia si totusi lasam niste idei bune sa moara “in fasa”. De ce nu se exploateaza asemenea idei? Preferam sa scoatem masini din ce in ce mai bune – acum chiar mai sigure si pentru mediu, insa constatam ca o zona pe care pe jos o parcurgi intr-un sfert de ora te poate tine blocat in masina si trei sferturi de ora (cei ce circula pe Magheru-Balcescu seara spre Universitate de la Romana stiu la ce ma refer, sunt sigura, si nu numai ei din pacate).
De ce nu preferam sa devenim mai eficienti si chiar si profitabili – nu cred ca un pret ok si o promovare buna nu ar aduce vanzari unei masini care poate zbura. Este perfect adevarat ca ar fi la inceput mai greu – ca oamenii ar trebui sa urmeze cursuri de zbor, ca ar trebui realizate niste reguli de circulatie specifice, dar este oricum aproape absurd sa luam aceste aspecte in considerare cand nici macar nu stim de vreun proiect viabil in desfasurare.
Si in fapt nici nu trebuie sa ne gandim doar la masini care zboara – ci sa avem in vedere fluidizarea circulatiei – cum pot ajunge de la A la B bine, in siguranta si cat mai repede?
Probabil, ca de obicei, speranta moare ultima – dar moare in chinuri!

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.
I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)
