Intalnire cu Simon Toyne (autorul Sanctus)
Vineri Editura All a invitat cativa bloggeri la un pranz cu scriitorul in voga acum, Simon Toyne. Prima lui carte – in fapt primul volum dintr-o trilogie – Sanctus (prezentata aici) a aparut si este deja un bestseller. A fost un adevarat maraton pentru scriitorul fost jurnalist – de altfel Romania a fost a 9a si ultima tara in care si-a promovat romanul intr-un tur de 3 luni.
Am reusit sa fim doar bloggerite la eveniment. Multe intrebari si doar 2 ore la dispozitie. Prea putin avand in vedere compania. Am descoperit scriitorul dar si omul Simon Toyne. Am vorbit despre masini (in special despre BMW alaturi de Ruxa :P), am vorbit desigur despre carti, am mai vorbit despre media si televiziune, despre social media, despre marketing, despre scris si, evident, despre Sanctus.
Am aflat lucruri interesante: care au fost actorii pe care i-a avut in minte Simon atunci cand scria cartea; am vorbit despre scris si comercial, despre compararea lui cu Dan Brown si-am discutat despre diferente si despre faptul ca nu e deloc un lucru rau sa scrii ceva bine pornind insa de la ideea de a scrie ceva comercial si am vorbit si despre familie si copii.
Am vorbit despre multe si marunte – si despre un lucru important. L-am intrebat la un moment dat ce intrebare nu i s-a pus in acest tur de promovare dar i-ar fi placut sa ii fie adresata (si evident l-am rugat sa imi spuna si care ar fi fost raspunsul). Si-asa am ajuns sa discutam despre tehnica – despre modul in care e scrisa cartea, despre cum ai impresia ca vezi aievea si orasul, si muntele si fiecare situatie in parte (ceea ce necesita munca), despre cum personajele evolueaza si despre cum oamenii deseori spun ca stau pana tarziu in noapte ca sa termine de citit cartea – insa, ciudat, despre scriitura si tehnica nu se discuta, in schimb se vorbeste mult despre asocierea cu Dan Brown si alte asemenea.
