Mass-media, dreptul la intimitate si imaginile socante
Explozie, accidente, inmormantari: mass-media cauta sa le surprinda pe toate in imagini cat mai socante (pe care ulterior sa le redea ori in poze ori in materialele video). Ce rost are insa sa filmezi un cadavru cand oricum la televizor va fi blured – datorita reglementarilor in vigoare? Si cine se gandeste la familia respectivului: oare chiar doreste aceasta ca imaginea trupului sau sa faca inconjurul tarii/lumii in acel mod? Si chiar la familie in sine cine se gandeste? Isi doresc oare membrii familiei sa fie filmati cand sunt sfasiati de durere? Nu e oare aceasta suficienta?
La fel in cazul accidentelor – chiar din sport de exemplu: fotbalisti carora aproape le dau lacrimile de durere, ori care sfarsesc pe terenul de fotbal – oare asa ar fi de dorit sa isi aduca aminte lumea de ei?
Mi-aduc aminte – apropo de sport – de accidentul lui Michael Schumacher. O foarte mare grija a organizatorilor si un inalt grad de profesionalism si al reprezentantilor echipei medicale si al celei tehnice. S-a specificat faptul ca a avut un accident si la care parte a corpului a fost ranit insa tot ce a insemnat imagine cu el accidentat si ingrijit de medici nu a existat. Motivul? A fost tot drumul acoperit de o prelata care practic inconjura targa si pe medici de la iesirea din spatiul de cursa si pana la intrarea in ambulanta. S-au oferit date – de purtatori de cuvant si medici, insa pilotul a aparut inainte de cursa si dupa operatie in fata media.
In acest context putem sa largim aria de acoperire a intrebarii si sa ajungem si la zona farselor: oare cat de mult isi doresc oamenii (de aici si din afara) sa le fie difuzata reactia in cazul unor situatii mai putin placute? – si e una cand se sperie de o tarantula de plastic si alta cand femeile in fuste atunci cand trec pestre spatiul din fata unei intrari intr-un super/hypermarket constata ca un ventilator porneste brusc si le ridica fusta – iar ele cu greu pot acoperi imaginea (ce se vede) mai ales daca sunt filmate la iesire cand au si cumparaturi in mana.
In timp mas-media au inceput sa caute din ce in ce mai mult socantul. Imaginile dureroase provoaca un mare impact (a se vedea executiile transmise in direct). Sunt situatii si situatii. Insa atunci cand vorbim despre accidente, familii triste, persoane publice si nu numai, se tine cont de reglementarile in vigoare? Le cunoastem noi pe acestea pentru a afla ce pot filma si ce nu jurnalistii? Stim noi daca trebuie sa ni se ceara acordul? Vorbim de spatiu public – dar cum ramane cu dreptul la propria imagine? Unde este conflictul si unde concilierea celor doua? Intrebari multe, raspunsuri… cine stie?

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 10 in St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Leonardtown,MD with Father David Beaubien officiating. He was born on May 29, 1940 to the late Frank P. Neal and Mary Estelle Neal in Leonardtown, Maryland. “Walt” is survived by his wife Ella whom he married 50 years ago in the District of Columbia. Their union produced two children, Joyce Neal of Chaptico and Jay Neal of Owings, Maryland and five grandchildren Rian, Mekhi, Grant, and Jada He was preceded in death by his brother John Neal, and leaves two siblings Alice Showell and George Neal with a lifetime of memories to cherish. Walt graduated from Banneker in 1959 and attended Morgan State College. He served his country for 3 years in the Army from 1961 1964. While in the Army he was a member of the Ballistic Research Team that was charged with investigating John F. Kennedy assassination. Walt was a lifelong resident of St. Mary county and dedicated himself to serving the community. In the mid 1960 he became one of the first African Americans to become a member of the volunteer rescue squad. He continued to serve in that role until his illness. He was an employee of St. Mary Hospital for some 47 years where he was known not only for his meticulous work and attention to detail, but for his easy going smile and soft spoken manner. He held many appointments to various boards and commissions over the many years which included the St. Mary Hospital Board of Directors, the Building Committee for the Carter Building, the Extension Service Advisory Board, the St. Mary Hospital Renovation Committee, the St. Mary County Board of Social Services, the Fair Board, and the Agricultural Land Preservation Committee. He participated in numerous Christmas in April projects. Many neighbors benefitted from his generous spirit when he would push snow and clear driveways refusing to accept any type of payment. He took pride in his garden and shared the fruits of his labor with friends and family alike. He was constantly improving and perfecting his wine making skills. When not working, he avidly pursued other hobbies. He grew up farming and love of the land never left him. A local historian in his own way and an avid photographer, Walt collected a series of his own photographs from the 1970 to make a slide show collection documenting tobacco growing in Southern Maryland. Joining the Southern Maryland Antique Power Association gave him an outlet to express his enjoyment of old tractors with like other minded enthusiasts and allowed him the ability to greatly expand his tractor collection. He was the founder of the tractor parade in Leonardtown, MD. His happiest times were spent with his five grandchildren. He relished any opportunity to spend time with them. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 10, 2014 from 5 PM 8 PM with prayers recited at 7 PM followed by Rescue Squad prayers at 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM in St. Aloysius Catholic Church Leonardtown, MD with Father David Beaubien officiating, con celebrating Father Rory Conley. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens Leonardtown, MD. Pallbearers Jay Neal, John Neal, Paul White, Treavor Rose, John Thompson, and Henry Johnson.
