Virgula – de la ajutor la agonie
Virgula este un semn de punctuatie. Nimic nou pana aici. In ce conditii se foloseste invatam toti pe la scoala. De prin clasa a III-a si apoi reluam. Inainte de examenul de admitere la liceu (care se dadea pe vremea mea, dar am zice astazi inainte de examenul de capacitate) trebuia sa citesti (daca voiai sa dai ulterior si la uman era chiar indicat sa citesti inaintea anului cu examen) “Indreptar ortografic, ortoepic, morfologic si de punctuatie al limbii romane”.
Aflai de acolo in ce conditii se foloseste virgula.
Excesele fac rau – nu?
Ei bine printre lucrurile extrem de importante pe care le aflai e ca virgula NU se pune niciodata intre subiect si predicat. Si culmea zilele acestea am primit comunicate (din nou) cu virgula intre subiect si predicat. Si nici macar nu exista ceva intre subiect si predicat ca sa zici ca era vreo pauza semnalata intre doua virgule. Nu. “X virgula face”. Serios. Si am dovezi. Evident ca nu am publicat stirea – nu meritau. Si cum erau la a n-a oara cand marea agentie de PR trimitea astfel de comunicate nici nu le-am mai dat mesaj inapoi cu link la postul de aici de pe blog de la categoria greseli de pr.
La fel virgula NU se foloseste in exces. Daca va trageti respiratia de 10 ori cat scrieti o fraza nu inseamna ca fiecare astfel de pauza trebuie sa fie marcata printr-o virgula. Si nu vreti sa stiti ce comunicat tocmai am primit.
E chiar asa de greu ca orice persoana care isi spune PR sau jurnalist (pentru ca sunt din pacate si cativa din media care n-au prea auzit de scris corect in limba romana) sa studieze din scoarta in scoarta cu atentie si in repetate randuri Indreptarul si DOOMul? Deja consider ca pentru a lucra undeva pe parte de PR ar trebui sa se dea un examen de gramatica (printre altele).
Atentie asadar la semnele de punctuatie si mai ales la virgule. Nu de alta dar s-ar putea ca in final voi sa pierdeti daca le utilizati in exces: stirile va sunt ignorate, nepublicate…

Daca scrii un text in limba engleza, se pastreaza aceleasi reguli ale semnelor de punctuatie? Ce diferente exista?
Intotdeauna se urmeaza regulile limbii in care se scrie.
Englezii, de exemplu, pun virgula inainte de ”and”, intr-o enumerare. Si la noi au preluat unii treaba asta, desi nu este corecta decat in cazul expresiei ”si…, si…”.
Virgula intre subiect si predicat este doar una din situatiile in care acest semn de punctuatie este folosit gresit. Ma zgarie la fel de tare sa vad scris „fostul presedinte al Romaniei, Emil Constantinescu” si ”presedintele Romaniei Traian Basescu”. Unii nu stiu acordul intre subiect si predicat sau ce este acela atribut, ce sa mai faca si diferente intre cel determinativ si cel explicativ??
Cred ca 70 la suta din populatie ar trebui sa mearga la cursuri intensive de gramatica, iar mai trist este ca multi dintre cei 70 la suta se vor a fi formatori de opinie…
Din pacate si eu constat ca gramatica – elementele de baza – sunt ignorate sau adevarate enigme pentru multi. In cazul virgulei si eu am remarcat – inclusiv in comunicate – virgula inainte de “etc.”
Cred ca ar trebui ca macar Indreptarul ortografic, ortoepic si de morfologie a limbii romane sa fie obligatoriu de studiat – nu sa ajungi la facultate si sa nu stii cum si cand sa folosesti semnele de punctuatie (pentru ca avem de-a face si cu abundenta semnelor de exclamare, cu semnele de intrebare puse cate 4-5 de cate 5-6 ori intr-un material si asa mai departe).
