Quantity does NOT make QUALITY – sau despre bloguri
Sa facem un exercitiu simplu. Sa luam o persoana care citeste 5 bloguri pe zi, 5 siteuri de stiri si care evident ca are si de lucru. Daca pe fiecare dintre cele 5 bloguri apare cate un material si pe fiecare site apar cate 5 inseamna ca acea persoana are de citit 5 + 5*5 = 30 de articole. Daca vrea sa si comenteze lucrurile se complica. Daca insa fiecare blog publica in medie 3 materiale/zi ajungem la 45 de articole de citit. Fireste, mai multe materiale publicate pe zi inseamna raspandirea lor de-a lungul zilei. Adica mai multe vizite. Sau o lectura in utilitarul cu care urmariti feedurile RSS la care persoana s-a abonat.
Am vazut multe insemnari online care mentionau faptul ca doar blogurile urmarite (e drept mai mult de 5 si obiectiv vorbind citesti mai mult de 5 luand unele din domeniu din tara, unele punct de reper in afara, unele ale unor prieteni si tot asa) ajung sa le aduca poate chiar sute de posturi necitite pe zi in feedul rss.
Motivul invocat adesea este faptul ca pe bloguri se publica mai multe materiale.
Sa o luam acum si din punct de vedere al PRului si promovarii. Pentru un trafic bun (mai ales daca blogul e in engleza) iti doresti sa ajungi in Google News si alte asemenea locuri. Numai ca pentru a fi acolo trebuie sa publici. Des. Intr-adevar s-ar putea sa ajungi sa ai mai multi cititori – dar a scrie zilnic cateva materiale pe blog – poate pe mai multe – a lucra, a-ti vedea de activitatile de timp liber si asa mai departe nu cumva devine prea mult? Nu cumva ajungi sa nu mai ai substanta si relevanta si sa tratezi doar superficial diverse noutati punand mai rar articole relevante?
Si vizitatorii, oare ce vor ei sa citeasca? Informatii pe care le gasesc oricum pe siteurile din domeniu sau materiale cu miez? Eu recunosc ca prefer sa vad articole publicate mai rar dar relevante. Mai rarut e mai dragut.
Recunosc, urmaresc cateva bloguri. Le citesc zilnic pe multe dintre ele – pe altele o data pe saptamana. M-am obisnuit cu ritmul de publicare al autorilor si ca atare intru pe bloguri in functie de acesta.
Marturisesc de asemenea ca imi plac blogurile unde am maxim 1 articol pe zi. Doar in cazuri exceptionale sa fie 2 materiale ce trebuie sa apara.
Si inca un lucru: imi plac insemnarile cu substanta. Imi place ca indiferent daca e blogul personal al cuiva sau un blog orientat spre un anumit domeniu sau spre unele subiecte sa vad materiale interesante. Si da, esentele tari se tin in sticlute mici.
Si in partea de consultanta le recomand intotdeauna clientilor sa tina cont de acest aspect. Relevanta. Calitatea. Sa nu trimita materiale doar ca sa fie, ci sa spuna ceva. Sa nu scrie (daca au blog de companie) doar ca sa apara un material acolo – ci sa isi stabileasca o frecventa pe care ar putea-o pastra dar publicand articole de citit.
Avem atat de multe materiale – si deseori vad articole (pe siteuri si pe bloguri deopotriva) care nu spun absolut nimic nou, care prezinta ceva la mintea cocosului pus deja de toata lumea in practica, idei elementare. Evident ca dupa ce intri o data sau de doua ori pe un asemenea site/blog a treia oara nu vei mai repeta experienta. Calitatea atrage si retine, cantitatea deseori alunga. S-ar putea sa aduca unii cititori de ocazie (via motoare de cautare) dar pentru bloguri importanti sunt cei care revin intrucat in jurul acelui blog se creeaza o comunitate.
Less is more. Conteaza si cantitatea – dar mai mult ca sigur nu cand vine vorba de bloguri si nu cand vorbim de multe materiale/zi.
